WHAT:

Each student will deliver a 30-minute formal oral presentation on their capstone experience on April 26, 2021. This final capstone course presentation will be a concise and professional presentation describing your capstone experience; the importance of this academic experience to your professional field or a patient population, a brief summary of the current evidence or literature that exists on this topic, and your reflections of this summative educational experience.

Specifically:

  • Describe your project and frame the topic through a clear and succinct statement and clearly articulate the importance or value of this project to your discipline or program of study (“This is an important topic to clinical nurse leaders because….”)
  • Summarize key concepts or evidence to provide background for your project (“Currently, the [national] status of this topic is…”)
  • Explain the findings or outcomes of your project (“What I did”)
  • Offer reflections, recommendations on this project (“What I learned”)
  • Apply best practices for professional presentations

This summative oral presentation is worth 25% of your NLX 486 final course grade.
