- Give a current example of household production from your life.
- Do you think that national governments should include the value of household production in their measures of GDP? Explain.
Using UNDP Human Development Index data (Table 1: Human Development Index and its components (Links to an external site. (Links to an external site.) (Links to an external site.)), find the 2019 data for Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
- List and briefly describe the components of the Human Development Index and how the index is calculated.
- Make one table showing the most recent figures for each of the components, for both countries. Make sure that your table is easily readable, that it has a title, that all statistics are labeled with the proper units, and that there is a citation for the source of the data.)
- How do the country’s national income compare? How do their HDIs compare? Briefly comment on these findings.
