1) DISCUSSION POST
Organizational Change
Hypothesize why organizations may change. What are the potential consequences of an organization being resistance to change? Recall a specific instance you have undergone significant change at your place of work. What was the overall outcome? After posting your response, respond to at least one of your classmates’ suggestions.
2)PEER REVIEW #1 (IMANI)
Organizations change in an effort to keep up with a changing world. Failure to adapt to the changing world and changes in demand would ultimately result in failure and major losses. An example of a company resistant to change is Barnes and Noble. They waited far too long to implement technologies and online shopping which ultimately led to huge losses. Their consumers left them for their competitor, Amazon. I have never undergone significant changes at work. In fact, in my experience, a lot of southern restaurant chains are likely to fail due to losses because they are hesitant to implement any changes with the changing demands.
3) PEER REVIEW #2 (SIRENA)
Hello everyone,
Some reasons for a company to experience organizational change are changes in the economy, technology updating, growth or decline of business, new leadership, and the actions of the competitions. Resistance to these changes can result in a decrease in sales, unsatisfied employees, or even a failed business.
My last employer had undergone several significant organizational changes, but the most major one was bringing a manager onboard that would ack as a buffer between the owner and employees. Unfortunately, this particular change did not work as the new manager did not adapt well to the culture there as well as did not receive proper direction from the owner.
