As you have read this week, the digital privacy and security landscape is constantly changing. We have to be vigilant about things like rapidly evolving AI technologies, mobile app security settings, and commercial data breaches in order to protect our personal information from people who want to exploit it. How do we keep our personal information private? How do we keep our private information secure? For this module, please read the following articles (they are very short!):
- The Lazy Person’s Guide to Better Online Privacy (Links to an external site.)
- How to Secure Your Online Accounts By Revoking Access From Third-Party Apps (Links to an external site.)
- Follow the steps in this article to check what third-party apps you have granted account access to. Do you remember authorizing those apps? Do you recognize all of them?
Then, write a 100 word response that addresses the following questions and includes an example from at least one of the articles you read from this week:
What steps are you currently taking to protect your own information as you use the internet and engage with online services and mobile apps? What worries you most about online privacy and security? What can you do to improve your online privacy?
Respond in a Word or Google document that is formatted with standard margins, Times New Roman 12 point font, and double spaced. Response should be in paragraph form and at least 100 words.
