Remember to follow the instructions found under Course Documents so you do not lose easy points!

Instructions for Discussion Board Forums

This semester, there will be 3 DB Forums that you will participate in by 1) posting a thread in response to the stated prompt and 2) posting replies in response to classmates’ threads. The forum topics present thought-provoking questions and prompt you to build upon and apply the module/week’s readings. Each forum is designed to enhance your learning experience as you assimilate and wrestle with the content of the readings, analyze the issues, write about your ideas, perspectives, and concerns, and receive feedback from your classmates. Both the frequency of your participation and the depth of the content that you write will affect your grade.

Threads

For each forum, post a thread in response to the topic prompt provided. Your thread must contain 400–500 words. This limit promotes writing that is thorough yet concise enough to permit your peers to read all the posts.

Replies

After reading all of your classmates’ threads, you must post a reply to at least 2 of them. You must also substantiate your position by using citations from the resources that you have used throughout the module/week. Each reply must be at least 200–300 words.

Be sure to click “Reply” within the thread you intend to respond to. Also, note that “I like what you said,” “That’s a good comment,” and “I disagree with your comment” do not count as a complete reply in and of themselves. Rather, stating why you liked or disliked the comment, adding additional thoughts or ideas to the original comment, and/or providing alternative ideas or thoughts when you disagree count as a reply. Courtesy in any disagreement is expected. Thus, personal attacks are not acceptable and will count against you in your grade.
