Summarizing theological themes of minor prophets

Purpose: The purpose of this project is to help the student distinguish the message of each of the prophets from each other.

Reading the prophetic books can be difficult and after a while, if you are not familiar with prophetic literature, they can all start to sound the same. In this assignment, I want you to
Read Longmans summaries of each of the minor prophets carefully to get a feel for the unique features of each of them. I have provided a text selection from each book that will also illustrate the unique features of each of the books.
Hosea 1:1-8; Joel 2:28-32; Amos 7:10-17; Obadiah 1:1-4; Jonah 4:1-5; Micah 3:1-12; Nahum 3:1-7; Habakkuk 1:1-4, 12-17; Zephaniah 3:14-20; Haggai 1:1-6; Zechariah 1:7-21; and Malachi 3:8-15.

Using the spreadsheet template provided, answer the following questions, citing at least one verse or source for each one:
From Longmans book, what is the date and setting of each of the Minor Prophets?
What is the basic message of each passage of Scripture?
What is a distinctive element in each prophets life or message?
In the last column of your spreadsheet, in one to two sentences, summarize what you consider to be the primary two or three messages these Minor Prophets convey. As you discern these themes, make sure you are putting them into your own words, not just restating the words in the verses above or what you might have read in Longmans book or another source.
