Sox Act Includes Regulations Communication Media

Student One:

  • Email is a good way to get your message across when: Saving important emails can be helpful if you need to refer back to what someone said in an earlier message, provide some kind of proof (for example, proof that you have paid for a service or product), or review the content of an important meeting or memo. Email is important because it creates a fast, reliable form of communication that is free and easily accessible. It is not characterized by the inconveniences that are generally associated with traditional communication media, such as telephone or postal mail. Advantages. Emails are delivered extremely fast when compared to traditional post. Emails can be sent 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Webmail means emails can be sent and received from any computer, anywhere in the world, that has an internet connection.

Student Two:

  • When it comes to emails in this modern generation; I believe the email is here to stay, I say this because many people and businesses use email address for a convenient communication method. Emails are still important to us today. I believe that emails are neck, neck with online forms of communication. The emails are a form of structuring the way you want to send your message, spellcheck, citing, headline, and etc. Email is a very strong tool to us in the daily task in life and at work. Having the ability to send anything that is on your chest or need to send any work related messages, you have the time figure out what you’re trying to form in to words. The most effective mode of communication in a business, is through email. Normally a lot of managements usually doesn’t communicate face to face with employees, this happens because most businesses are fast pace so it’s more convenient to send an email of a problem or suggestions than to schedule a meeting and meet face to face. However in my opinion I do not believe that email is always better simply because through email communication can be misread and misidentified. Sending emails to communicate with employees does build working relationships, it does help a business grow or assist managers with learning their employees. It’s just a more convenient tool to communicate when trying to navigate through these modern day businesses.

Student Three:

  • Define evidence and its importance in critical thinking.Critical thinking is the way that we analyze and apply the gathered information that we collect. Evidence is what helps supports the thinking; like when writing a paper you state your claim then you back your claim up with evidence. Evidence helps supports theories; if the evidence isn’t their people won’t believe it. It can either help people prove something or deny it.

Student Four:

  • Critical Thinking is the ability to analyze the way you think and present evidence for your ideas, rather than settling for personal reasoning as sufficient proof. Evidence is all the tangible data that supports one’s claim. It provides proof by using facts, example, or statistics. It is something one wants to justify. Evidence separate facts from opinions and withhold personal judgment or biases. Like the reading from chapter 3 mentions, one of the most important characteristics of good evidence is its accuracy

Student Five:

  • The Sarbanes Oxley Act. of 2002, are regulations imposed to firms that requires them to provide accurate and reliable disclosure of their accounting and financial activities. This Law was passed after some scandals arised from companies that engaged in fraudulent activities in regards their financial situation. This firms provided a misrepresentation about the firm that affected particular investors and the public sector. One of the Sarbanes Oxley Act purpose was to protect investors and imposed sanctions on firms that will otherwise engage in any unethical activities. Because most companies relay on new technology the SOX act includes regulations specifically applied to information system and cybersecurity. This regulations were adopted with the Cybersecurity system and Risk Reporting Act amendment to the SOX, not only do this regulations seeks to protect the accuracy of information but to also protect all the confidential communication via

Student Six:

  • The Sarbanes-Oxley Act is a federal law that enacted a comprehensive reform of business financial practices. The 2002 Sarbanes-Oxley Act aims at publicly held corporations, their internal financial controls, and their financial reporting audit procedures as performed by external auditing firms. A large scandal involving the public company Enron showed the American public and its representatives in Congress that new compliance standards for public accounting and auditing were sorely needed. Enron was one of the biggest and, it was thought, one of the most financially sound companies in the U.S. I think financial statements will be more trustworthy if company financial executive implements this provision of SOX because, all the company’s financial reports are audited, and SOX has control over everything. SOX is put into place to close loopholes, strengthen governance rules and increase accountability within companies. It does not state in the report if any of the CEOs or CFOs served any jail time, but All companies, in accordance with SOX, must now provide a year-end report regarding the internal controls they have in place and the effectiveness of those internal controls. Although the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 is generally credited with having reduced corporate fraud and increasing investor protections, it also has its critics (Peavler. Web).
