Relationships Among Culturally Diverse Race Cultu
THIS IS YOUR FINAL AND IS WORTH 75% OF YOUR GRADE.
For this project choose a recent incident or series of incidents in your local area, state, or across the nation in which race, gender, or culture was thought to be a factor in how the criminal justice system dealt with the issue. As much as possible, try to confine your selection to a local incident or incidents. If none are available in your region, you can select an incident in the national arena.
You are to imagine that you are a criminal justice consultant who has been asked by local leadership to research the case and propose a set of strategies or interventions to prevent such an incident from taking place again. Note that you are not expected to investigate the case nor determine who is right or wrong in their actions. You are required to put your emotions aside. Within your project, you are expected to deal with such factors as the reactions of the local community, appropriate governmental agency, and or criminal justice agencies or institutions, if applicable, and the reaction of the media. Finally, you are expected to apply concepts and theories studied in this course to your analysis of the event(s), reactions to the event(s), and your recommendations.
Your Portfolio Project should contain the following elements:
- Introduction
- Evaluate the influence of race and culture on criminal justice policies and outcomes.
- Analyze race and culture within American society.
- Analyze the criminal justice system in a community.
- Design a solution to improve the relationships among culturally diverse groups and the criminal justice agencies.
- Conclusion
Your paper should be 6-8 pages long, not including the title or reference pages.
You are expected to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise, and organized fashion, using the required and recommended readings from the course for analytical support. Although you are encouraged to cite from your textbook, you are required to cite a minimum of four academic peer-reviewed scholarly journal sources beyond the textbook to support your statements. The CSU-Global Library is a good place to find these sources.
Review the Portfolio grading rubric, which can be accessed from the Module 8 folder, and make sure to follow CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements. Please be sure to reach out to your instructor at any point in the course if you have any questions about the assignment.
The paragraphs should not be titled and the plagiarism must be kept under 10%
