2. Tectonic Web Investigation

Find a web article or resource on one of the following tectonic features: 1. Mid-Atlantic Ridge , 2. Java Trench, 3. Rift Valley (of East Africa), 4. Mariana Trench, 5. The Himalaya Mountains, 6. Andes Mountains, 7. Atlas Mountains, 8. San Andreas Fault, 9. New Madrid Fault, 10. Nojima Fault

Do a search (through google, alta vista, yahoo, etc.) on one of these tectonic features and find a good resource/article to share with the class. Make sure that your resource is a good, reliable site (edu, gov, and org sites are typically good sources). Please avoid encyclopedia-based websites like Wikipedia for this assignment. Also make sure that the webpage you share with the class relates your selected feature to tectonic processes. For example, there are many good sites about the Andes Mountains but they do not all discuss the tectonic forces that created them. One other rule about this discussion posting is that you may not reference a website that has already been identified by one of your classmates on the discussion board. It is alright if you site the same feature, but it needs to be different website sources for that feature.

Your discussion posting should include the website, a brief overview of what content is on the link, and the reason(s) why you selected the feature and web link that you did. This web journey will help you learn more about tectonic features while giving you the opportunity to practice with your researching skills.
