Professional Level Article Geared I Need Response
Injury Prevention Assignment
This assignment is due on April 29, 2020 by 11:59pm. Your assignment needs to be submitted in two locations: in the assignment drop box and in a discussion board. Discussion post responses are due on May 5, 2020 by 11:59pm.
Part 1:Provide a 1 page summary of ONE article related to unintentional injury prevention. APA format is required. Please attach the article in your submission. This should be a professional level article geared toward health professionals, not parents. The article should have been written within the last 7 years.
Part 2:To address the following 4 points, you may utilize any resource available, websites, journal articles, text, etc. Citations are required for all information obtained.
- Identify 3 key home safety issues as they relate to unintentional injury prevention for your assigned age group. Prioritize the issues and identify a rationale for the prioritization.
- Summarize how the 3 identified safety issues coincide with the child’s growth and development.
- Create a Home Safety action plan for parents about home safety measures.
- Discuss potential barriers to success for this action plan (e.g. parent education level, unable to read, etc.).
While you do not need to answer the 4 points in paragraph format, the submitted assignment needs to be clear, well-organized, and flow.
Part 3:Respond to two students in the discussion board that had an age group different than yours (for example if you were assigned the infant age group, you must respond to two additional age groups to obtain full credit). Your response should demonstrate the use of critical thinking and include the use of evidence based literature/references by utilizing in text citation and include your reference at the end of your discussion.
A few questions to answer include: What did you learn from the students assignment? How did the identified safety concerns differ from your assigned age group? Why did they differ? Would you recommend any other safety measures and can you identify any other barriers to success?
