Languages Like Spanish Deterring Eng 100 Sources
Hello there,
I need help answering the parts below.
First,
For your paper, you will be required to use two outside sources, one of which must be from a peer-reviewed scholarly journal. But when doing research, we can’t just use the first sources we find. We may have to read and think about several sources to build the conversation around the subject, so in this activity you are going to find three sources. One must be from a peer-reviewed, scholarly journal. To do this, you will need to think about the conversation.
I have a title of the essay/paper, I also have an introduction and thesis,
Of Two Tongues: The Bilingual Education Debate
Over recent times education involving the use of multiple languages to explain the content in institutional environments has been a major debate among both scholars, educators, society and the government at large as discussions of whether or not to incorporate non-English education in American systems persist. Bilingual education integrates language, culture, and traditions of indigenous groups to build literacy and proficiency in more than one language which is linked to higher literary skills, higher graduation rates in students, cross-cultural understanding and reclamation of disappearing Native American languages in the social scene. Restrictive language policies integrated into American culture though have been a major deterrent to change with beliefs of languages like Spanish deterring English learning, children learning native languages at home, and the fear that such languages would take over in schools. The need for linguistically informed education is needed to support the maintenance of both languages in school so as to develop bilingual fluency.
this is my introduction so I need 3 sources related to this topic.
second,
When selecting quotes, you’ll want to consider how vital the quote is to your argument and whether or not the quote would be better paraphrased instead. A good time to quote is when the author uses such exact language that a paraphrase would lead to inaccuracies, or when you want to focus on the specific words the author uses because you want to agree or disagree with the word choice or make a nuanced point.
So, please revisit the articles and re-highlight what quotes you now think are vital to your argument. You have also chosen several quotes in your annotated bibliography. You may use those quotes as well.
Write three quotes below in a “quote sandwich” where you briefly introduce and explain your quote, so it makes sense in the context of your argument and then explain the quote.
