Kamran Nazeerasan Navigating College Autism And A
For this assignment, you will need to write a 3-4 page paper about autism and adulthood. You will either need to read a book, watch a movie, or find community resources that are related to this topic. A list of approved books and movies are below. You will need to evaluate the book, movie, or other resources and connect it to issues we discussed in class and those that were raised in the readings on adulthood. What exactly you discuss will depend on the type of book, movie or resource you choose (e.g., fiction or non-fiction). For fictional films and books, you might discuss how characters in the book or movie portrayed characteristics described in the class and readings, how support mechanisms were applied, and other issues that might apply. Provide supporting examples and discuss how the content of the film, movie, or community resource connected with the course content. It may be that the course content is supported by what you read/watched or it may be that the course content is contradicted to some degree. The critical part of the paper is the discussion surrounding your conclusions about this issue.
Your evaluation should involve a strengths-based approach to autism, and it should cite class readings and lectures.
