  1. discuss Jewish sectarianism under Roman-occupied Jerusalem. How did the Sadducees, Pharisees, and Essenes differ in their religious practices and theologies? Give at least 3 specific examples to illustrate Jewish religious diversity around the First Century.
The first essay for the course will be due on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at 11:59 pm. The essay will be worth a total of 15 points, or 15% of your final grade. The essay must be approximately 1,000 words (plus or minus 10%, so 900-1100 words), and must include footnotes and a bibliography page (not counted in word count). Essays should be formatted in 12-point font and double-spaced. As noted in the syllabus, you are required to use Chicago style format.
