Assignment Instructions
In this assignment, you will be applying resilience concepts to a specific population. Choose a particular population that may rely greatly on personal or communal resilience at some point in life. You might consider a homeless group, single-parent fathers, widowed mothers of young children, those physically disabled and living in a community residence, elderly spouses caring for spouses with dementia, immigrant parents supporting their children’s efforts in a new culture, or mentally challenged individuals in a group home.
Write a 2-page, double-spaced paper that utilizes the concepts in the resilience terminology exercise you have just completed. Address the following:
- Identify the promotive, protective, and risk factors your chosen population may possess.
- Identify the resources needed, including those available and typically not available.
- Identify the model of resilience that may be most beneficial for them.
- Identify at least one relationship that could demonstrate the dynamism of resilience.
- Provide a few sentences indicating how, in your present position and with or without a career in mind, you might be able to advocate for this group.
Use a title sheet and a reference sheet. No abstract is needed. Use a minimum of three scholarly resources, not including the assigned readings, to support your work.
