Patient Scenarios
• 90-year-old male who has “taken care of himself” throughout his life by
eating right, avoiding drugs and alcohol and exercising five days a week. He
presents with pneumonia.
• 19-year-old female is nonresponsive after a MVA and is bleeding from her
ears.

• 40-year-old male with history of chronic alcohol use presents with
abdominal pain.
• 50- year old male with a history of a Myocardial Infarction presents for an
annual stress test. Pt is compliant with medications and has lost 30 pounds
through diet and exercise.
• 65-year-old male who is non compliant with his medications for diabetes
and hypertension presents with complaints of chest pain.
• 30-year-old female with a history of lung cancer that has metastasized to
her brain presents with severe headache and seizures.
• 7-year-old with acute lymphoblastic leukemia who needs a bone marrow
transplant which would give the child a 50% chance of living.
• 45-year-old female with a strong family history of breast cancer & the BRCA
gene wants an elective double mastectomy.
• 12-year-old female presents for annual well child visit & immunizations.
• 85-year-old female from a nursing home presents with acute delirium.
