Final Demonstration of Mastery

After reviewing the essential concepts, readings, and cases for this course, complete the following steps:

  1. Revise all papers based on instructor feedback.
  2. Complete MBA 680 Final Reflection. In a separate document, respond to the following:
    • Under separate headings, describe how each of the three papers created in the previous weeks of this course demonstrates your mastery of the competency and how the Capsim Ops competition contributed to your growth throughout the course, as well.
      • For instance, after a brief introduction, the first heading should be: Competency 1 – Understands the role of quantitative analysis and modeling within cross-functional decision-making. Following the title, reflect on your mastery of each element of the competency (e.g., understands the basics of linear programming, applies linear programming to maximization/minimization problems within business, etc.)
      • Next, for the linear programming paper, describe how the assignment impacted your perspective on how business leaders make optimal decisions using mathematical models. Include business issues or situations that can be addressed with program modeling to find the objective outcome.
      • Finally, briefly discuss how you might use linear programming models to make business decisions.
      • Provide scriptural support for your conclusions.
      • Repeat these steps of reflection for each of the two other papers produced during this course–Competency 2 - Applications of Quantitative Decision Making in Business II – Transportation, Transshipment, Assignment, or Shortest-route Problem and Competency 3 -  Applications of Quantitative Decision Making in Business III – Forecasting Problem AND an overall reflection of the Capsim Ops competition.
  3. Create a combined file.  (Links to an external site.)
