1st post to resond to… definition of diversity hasn’t really changed. The four lenses approach the study of diversity with respect to the individual and society by allowing me to further expand my knowledge while abling me to see diversity in areas where one wouldn’t normally expect. For example, learning about diversity in STEM was surprising to me only because it seemed like areas where someone would like, not only for males. The four lenses represent a way of seeing diversity by helping me not only appreciate, but also learn ways to get along with people from different backgrounds. Some implications of diversity in the future, in my opinion, would be a possibly less hateful world where people are often misunderstood and mistreated.
2nd post to respond 2… definition of diversity has changed because I know see diversity as a much bigger thing. Before I always viewed diversity as the differences in people, but it goes much deeper than that. Diversity is everywhere you look. The four lenses approach breaks down diversity into four different parts and helps explain everything in detail. I believe this helps society learn and grow as we take a deeper look at diversity. Looking at diversity through the humanities lens helps us understand the art and the artist. It helps us learn that there is much diversity in the arts whether it be pictures, plays, books, or media, there is diversity everywhere you look. The same can be said for history lens, we can look back on history and see how diverse the world really was and still is. Natural and applied sciences help us understand the diversity when it comes to finding new cures for countless diseases as well as new technologies that are thought of each day. When it comes to the social science lens we learn about the diversity in society, the whole person and why people do what they do. All four lenses help shed a light on the different ways we do and see things which just goes to show there is diversity all around us
