I would consider Frankenstein as a science fiction more than a horror story. Because a scientist created Frankenstein in a lab, it more so relates to science fiction that horror. While situations in this story may have turned fearful or horrific, none of that would have happened if Frankenstein were not scientifically created. The events preceding his creation are a direct result of Victor’s curiosities with the ‘secrets of life’. When thinking of Frankenstein, I tend to relate him to today’s Hulk because he was also made in a lab and is considered as a horrifying monster even though he has no control over his own making, similar to what we see in Frankenstein.
