Developmental Action Plan
Create a Developmental Action Plan for one of your subordinates using the Developmental Planning Process described in Week 1. If you do not have a subordinate, use one that you had in a previous job position.
Select one leader trait or competency–use this trait as the focal point of your Developmental Action Plan for your subordinate. For example, possibly this subordinate needs help with being more Assertive. Develop a plan that would enhance his/her opportunity to improve. Be specific on the Analysis and support with DuBrin (about 1 paragraph), write your action statement beginning with an action verb i.e. Improve assertiveness characteristics in the workplace, write the plan for your subordinate–you are not a part of the improvement. You have met with the subordinate, discussed this area in need of improvement, and written the plan to align with the needs discussed in the meeting. You do not complete the plan with the subordinate. The subordinate should receive the plan, begin the tasks that are specifically identified, and complete the plan. Be specific with each goal and subgoal to ensure improvement (as a note, always begin with education for the subordinate). Finally, ensure your outcome of success is objective-based and measurable. Your resource list should align with the process–BE SPECIFIC.
