The instrument(s) (4 points)

1 introductory paragraph setting the stage (assume that I do not have your previous two assignments in front of me). Tell me the type of crisis and what that means, when and where.

1 paragraph explaining in your own words the instrument that helped or caused the crisis. Explain why the instrument exist – in general: What purpose does it serve? Who is it supposed to help and how?

Laymen example (3 points)

Once you have explained the instrument and its link to the crisis, I want you to give me a simplistic example of how it is supposed to work. Does not need to be long – just clear. (If you explain it to someone on the bus, by reading this section out loud, they would understand)

In the example, I want you to clarify, who creates the product, who purchases it? How do they purchase it? Essentially, I want the life path of the instrument. How it begins and how it ends.

It is adamant that you use simple words. Technical words and acronyms will be dealt with -0.25 per words if not explained or overused – if you use technical words (doubtful that you won’t) be ready to explain it.

Role it played in the crisis (3 points)

You provided me with an example for how the products were to be used properly. Now I want to know how the instrument were used to help create the crisis. Look to explain within 2 pages – if you have more, it probable that a lot of information is not required, and you are getting bogged down in the details. (if you want – give me an example of how it was used to cause the crisis)
