Both Henry Jekyll and Victor Frankenstein have devoted their lives to scientific discovery. (While Jekyll is technically a doctor, he has no patients, because his focus is on research.) And both are, in different ways, fairly repulsive human beings. Which one do you find most objectionable, and why?
Compare these men, and in doing so compare what Mary Shelley and R.L. Stevenson are saying about the role of medicine and science in society, and about the nature of monstrosity, both physical and moral.
