Mainly their statements about family ties lies in their interpretation of their family members. The narrators admire their family members in such ways that shows their family strengths through their issues and day-to-day with them. As far as Maya Angelou’s life with her immediate family is what actually shaped a lot of her future for the circumstances she has dealt with growing up; being moved around, insecurities, racism, and other things played a part in how she became who she is. In looking at Adrienne Rich’s “Aunt Jennifer’s Tigers”; she spoke of her aunt in a beautiful, sorrowful, and inspiring manner. To me she spoke of her Aunt highly, but had great regards for her uncle. Both of these women faced different family dynamics but yet the way they chose to express and show how they were feeling is sort of similar. They both were from different racial backgrounds but whomever they had as far as family and love; they themselves made some kind of intellectual and descriptive way to express themselves and their families characteristics around them. They also both seem to have a very great and intelligent way of expressing themselves and the details of how they want to catch the readers attention. The ideas about their families show how the writers are because it gives a little insight into how those particular members affected/meant to them through how they speak of them; it shows as an admiration of the person in some cases. All-in-all, these women are very bright-mined ladies with very interesting uses of words and descriptive, descriptions to beautifully express themselves is amazing.
