African American/Black minority populations in the United States (U.S.):

Using your course textbook, lecture materials and other resources, provide the following sections in your paper:

• History of the population’s immigration (if applicable), past treatment, and changes in status in the U.S.

• Current demographics of the population in the U.S.

• Current health and health care issues of the population in the U.S.

• Other issues (socioeconomic, discrimination, etc.) of the population in the U.S.

• Specific beliefs regarding health and healthcare that is relevant to the selected population

• Other pertinent cultural beliefs and issues facing the population that is relevant for cultural competence training

• Using what you have learned in this course, other public health courses and the research, provide at least three recommendations for health care organizations to follow in order to be more culturally competent with the selected population.
