Explore how you might examine your research problem using a qualitative methodology.

For this assignment, you will build on your assignment from last week and further explore how you might examine your research problem using a qualitative methodology. Respond to the following questions:

Please restate the research problem, purpose, and research questions you developed previously and incorporate any faculty feedback as appropriate.

How might fieldwork and observation be used to answer your research questions? What role would fieldnotes play in this process? What are the advantages and disadvantages of using observation?

How might interviewing be used to answer your research questions? Would you use face-to-face interviews or electronic interviews? Why or why not? Would you interview participants individually or in a group? Why or why not? What are the advantages and disadvantages to using interviews to collect your data?

Discuss ethical issues to consider with these qualitative data collection methods.

Reflect on how you might code the potential data you collect.

Be sure to use scholarly sources to support all assertions and research decisions.

Introduction

The object of this paper is to take a new look at the proposed dissertation topic, motivation, the question concerning the topic and objective of the dissertation topic. The issue that will be introduced is the topic itself featuring the various methods of research that would enhance proving the topic is worthy of research. After the topic is discussed, research operation, design, and purpose will be touched upon. The issue to begin with will be research design. Individuals that like to wonder are more apt to become the qualitative research type.Rosaline, B. (2008). For this assignment, the research method that will be used is the qualitative design method.

Research Problem

This research problem is “What Carnival Cruisers Want: An Analysis of Product Preferences.” The Jones’ family has decided to take a Carnival Cruise and wants to know what all is available. Dad and mom have decided to do a qualitative research method that way each family can have an input on the decision of which ship and activities. Dad has asked each member to come up with a set of questions that interest the family member. It was explained that the questions must be kept simple, plain, and reasonable. Mr. Chenail offers ten steps to help making a good qualitative research. These ten steps are; 1.) Choose a subject that you are interested in, 2.)Identify a primary interest in a draft for proving scholarly worthy, 3.)Refine the topic of your focus, 4.)Devise the original inquiry, 5.)Explain the purpose of the inquiry, 6.)Perform an investigation of the literature that will be used, 7.)Research design is developed, 8.)Self skills needed to complete the study, 9.)Outline the research, and 10.)Report is written and sent in. Chenail, R.J. (2011).

Purpose of the Study

Possible Questions

In research, there are questions that will be asked. There are different types of questions for the different types of research methods. One thing to remember in qualitative research questions is recommended to be open ended questions. Anonymous, (n.d.). The three possible questions that may be asked in this research are; 1.)How are kids monitored while they are doing activities created for them? 2.)Can you compare the activities at each port that will be visited? And, 3.)What is the best feature of this ship? Although this is a short list of questions, there will be additional questions added.

Dissertation References

Choosing a topic of interest is indeed a plus. Along with the topic, make sure there is ample references that are five years and newer. The references must also be from a reliable and a credible source. Reading and rereading is the best way to choose the best references that will help enhance the dissertation topic that is chosen. The better the references that is used, the better chances the research ha to be approved. Even though an individual may think that the reference will not be used, write it down anyway. The reference may end up being a valuable tool in the long run.
