M1 Discussion: Social Issues
Select a social issue that is of interest to you. After you have read Chapter 1 and the module notes, list four beliefs you have observed about the social issue you selected, such as beliefs about its causes, consequences, or solutions. What is the source of these beliefs and are there errors in reasoning? In addition, answer the following questions in your post:
• What are your beliefs and their source?
• What type of policy, program, or intervention for helping resolve this social issue would be
consistent with your beliefs?
Once you have made your initial post, review and provide substantive feedback to at least two of your colleagues. Note: You must make your initial post before you can see those of your colleagues. Be sure to post early enough to give and receive feedback.
Throughout this course, you will be required to work with a learning partner on some of the course assignments. Through this discussion, try to identify a learning partner with similar interests with whom you can work on these assignments.
