IN THE TITLE OF YOUR POSTING, INCLUDE THE QUESTION NUMBER AND A WORD OR TWO ABOUT ITS CONTENT. THEN, IN YOUR POSTING, BEGIN BY RE-STATING THE ENTIRE QUESTION FROM THE LIST BELOW.

1. How does art have an effect on our ideas about historical events? What are the roles and responsibilities of artists in presenting historical depictions?

2. Some historical events and figures remain in the forefront of a culture’s collective memory, while others, who may have been as influential, fade away. How has art assisted in the keeping events or people in the foreground of the collective memory?

Then, respond to this student’s question with 5-7 sentence.

3. Often art presents certain events that will prompt different responses, depending on who views it, and when and where it is viewed. What responsibility does the art viewer have in interpreting the accuracy of its message and legacy?

According to the film Imagery was used to capture moments in several many ways depending on the times, era and culture. One particular culture used rocks, sand and hives to illustrate their art work. Then the westerners came along with paper, ink and pens to create drawings. The responsibility that the viewer has on the artwork is to look into the depth of the photo and maybe a caption if available and somewhat visualize the image being at a time now. Bayex tapestry from the 11th century was made with a needle and thread and it depicted the way ships were built, trees being cut down and actual invasion. It is up to the viewer whether or not they can see these things going on. Most artists use a concrete imagery when creating art which I think is a good choice because with that the art is very detailed.
