Project Management: Desired Goals
This assignment will focus on the desired goals in project management. Desired goals typically involve the practical plan for how the desired outcomes might be achieved. For example, the goals of a highway building project might involve the actual construction of roads, conversion of old roads to highways, and implementing the end-to-end architecture of the national highway system. While the desired outcomes are high-level aims of the public agency and project, the goals represent a more specific and practical method of achieving those high-level outcomes.
For this assignment, continue with the previous project you selected. You will need to identify at least three desired goals of the selected project. The desired outcomes you identified in the last assignment should be aligned with the goals you are identifying here. Once you have identified the desired outcomes, evaluate how effective these goals were in terms of being aligned with the project outcomes and the agency’s activities.
In a 34 page narrative, address the following:
- Provide appropriate background and context around the selected project.
- Explain the desired goals of the project.
- Evaluate the alignment between the agency’s desired goals and organizational objectives.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the goals in the action plan to achieving the project outcomes.
