A personal statement about your educational or career objectives should be uploaded. The personal statement is your way of introducing yourself to the Admissions Committee. It should address an individual’s personal history, motivations, and intellectual development. You should include special interests and abilities, career plans, and life goals. It should also be of the kind and quality that expresses why you have chosen to pursue a graduate degree. Your statement should be no longer than one page in length.
In addition to the general essay requirements described above, please also address the following in a separate essay and upload to the supplemental section: Being a culturally competent counselor is a life-long endeavor. What are some of the ways in which you have, either in your professional or academic life, thought about or practiced being sensitive and responsive to cultural differences? Please limit your response to no more than one double-spaced page/half a single-spaced page.
