Module 7:
Identity theft is prevalent in our modern society. Hackers and crackers are making every attempt to compromise a remote computer system for critical data. The federal government, state governments, local governments, businesses, and individuals have been implementing aggressive new security measures because of increasing cyber terrorist activities. A security threat can exist anywhere, and it is humanly impossible to protect huge amount of data transmitted over the network. You have been assigned the task of educating end-users on how to take security measures at the barest minimum to protect their personal identity. Discuss areas that individuals might be vulnerable to computer identify theft and provide recommendations and measures to help mitigate the threats. You were contacted by Walmart or your employer that their computer systems have been hacked and your identity may have been stolen from their computer database. What will be your first line of defense? Use your testimony to educate the end-users as part of your presentation. Comment on two of your classmates’ posts. Due date: Thursday November 28 , 2019 by 11:59 p.m.
The following rubric will be used for assessing your participation on discussion boards.
