Assuming the role of a tourism planning consultant prepare a two-page Visitor Economy Discussion Paper that describes the visitor economy in your chosen LGA =(Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia). Your discussion paper should review and consider theories, concepts and research introduced in Module One (Figure 1.1: Leiper’s (2004) Whole Tourism System Model (Source: Weaver & Lawton, 2014) and Module Two of this unit (Sustainable Regional Tourism Destinations: Best Practice for Management Development and Marketing.), supplemented by your own LGA-specific research.

Your Discussion Paper should present your finding in a simple two-page format using the following headings and criteria:
1.Introduction – clearly identify the selected Local Government Area and why you have selected it to review for your assessment work in this unit.
2. Visitor Economy Elements – Identify and explain the main elements of your local government area that contribute to the growth and development of the local visitor economy.
3. Visitor Economy Stake holders – Identify and briefly explain the role of the main stakeholders involved in managing the local visitor economy in your LGA.
4. Visitor Economy Strategies – Identify current and relevant stake holder visitor economy plans and strategies to support the growth and development of the local visitor economy
5.Visitor Economy Value – explain the value of the visitor economy to the local area.
6. Conclusion – you should conclude your report with a statement that explains why the preparation of this Discussion Paper was useful for your further studies in this unit.
