Compare the experiences of Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. DuBois, Marcus Garvey and Ida B. Wells-Barnett with that of average Black men and women. Evaluate whether the life experiences of the “great” fairly represent the African-American experience of the beginning of the 20th Century.
