1) DISCUSSION POST

Your Project Sponsor and customer are impressed with your project schedule, but due to some factors out of your / their control, you’ve been told to deliver your project early. Using the information from the readings, explain how you would go about assessing the possibility of delivering your project early. How will that affect scope, costs, and schedule?

2) PEER REVIEW #1 ( PRECIOUS)

Being informed that I am expected to deliver my project earlier, the additional cost of getting on schedule needs to be compared with consequences of finishing on scheduled timing. Expecting to deliver the project at an earlier time will increase the cost for project closure, and could also affect the quality. Those pros and cons will have to be discussed and clearly understood prior to entertaining the thought of an early project closure. In some cases early completion could indicate a large profit. But is completing the project early worth taking the risk if the quality of project completion is not quality work? Making this decision is a large risk. Yes, you could benefit or it could cost you. Scheduling will also be affected as resources would have to be scheduled for overtime, or the thought of bringing in resources will be needed. Either bringing new resources up to current speed and or the time needed to communicate new assignments could be timely. All of thee above areas will need to be brought to the sponsors attention and are effected if the project is pushed to be completed at an earlier time.

3) PEER REVIEW #2(MARIBEL)

Hello All,

To evaluate the likelihood of the project being completed early. Firstly, I will find the availability of supplies, manpower, human resources and finances. It would be necessary to have resources readily available to ensure that the project deliverables are rescheduled, and to reschedule the activities to ensure that the project is delivered on time.

The project completion earlier than expected would allow the use of more funds which is almost twice the amount budgeted, as more manpower will be used in a short time. Human resources will need to be expanded as more activities are to be carried out either concurrently or within a very short timeframe.

The scope might need to be redefined to ensure the new delivery time is sufficient to cover the scope of the project. Furthermore, within the new project some of the activities in the project are to be redefined, rearranged or omitted.
