my first classmate Ruth post is :
CFO interview versus a comprehensive mid-term examination?
The CFO interview outline gives me a lot to consider. The set up of the interviews are something that I would like to learn for my future job. It also helps me to know that the CFO should be knowledgeable of any aspect of the business.
Case Statement Presentation (Happy Hospital) verses a comprehensive final examination?
The final examination is all based on what we learn in class about Happy Hospital’s financial transactions. The case statement presentations are the overall concept of the accounting standard and their creators. It has more connections with the final because it gives us the name of different accounting transactions and where to allocate them in the financial statements. It also helps us to differentiate the assets, liabilities and owner’s equity.
SSAI Project?
The SSAI project gave me a lot to consider about the standard setting of accounting. The role of the SEC and its branches were created to protect investors from fraud. I did not know about SEC and its branches until I started taking this class. This is an amazing project that explains a lot of what was going on before the financial accounting standards and how they came together to control all fraud and create one standard setting of accounting principles.
Were learning objectives and outside readings a good fit for semester material covered
The outside reading about different companies’ accounting is basic to the ground of the what we learn in every class.. The good thing about the outside readings is, they have more connection to each topic that we learn in class. I can be lost sometimes but when we learn it in practice, I can easily connect it to what the outside reading is explaining.
My second classmate FRANCO post is.
I believe that the midterm CFO interview was comprehensive, as it taught me how to create a business agenda. It also allowed me to readily evaluate financial and accounting principles that I had learned but was unsure on exactly they would be utilized in a real-life scenario. My only reservation with the examination was that composing the questions and answering at the same time posed its own set of difficulties.
2. I do agree that the examination was a comprehensive test. I enjoyed the notion that the class started off with more theoretical principles of accounting, and then towards the of the course (with that examination), we were beginning to apply to concepts in a more realistic fashion.
3. The SSAI project was also very comprehensive. It served as a tool to understand the governing bodies in the accounting word, which as seen is not a clear portrait. Moreover, the notion of completing the project in phases assisted in spreading the workload throughout the semester.
4. Yes, the learning objectives and outside readings supplemented the material covered throughout the semester.
