Potential Current Natural Science Need Help With

I.) Provide a brief overview of the social scientific background of your issue and research question. How is the issue situated within the social sciences?

2.) Explain how the issue impacts the audience. In other words, how is the issue relevant to members of the audience? Why should the audience care about the response to your question or the outcome of your investigation? Support your response with specific examples from your research investigation.

3.) Describe the evidence you have to support your conclusions about the impact of the issue on you personally and on your audience. Support your response with specific examples from your research investigation.

4.) Explain why this issue is important to you personally. In other words, why did you select this issue to investigate?

5.) Illustrate how your investigation of the issue impacted the way you thought about the issue. In other words, how did thinking like a scientist to research and develop a question affect what you thought about the issue you selected? How did social scientific thinking change the lens through which you viewed the issue? Support your response with specific examples from your research investigation.

6.) Communicate your message in a way that is tailored to your specific audience? For instance, you could consider your vocabulary, your audience’s potential current natural science knowledge or lack thereof, and what is specifically important to the audience.

7.) Explain why using evidence-supported research can give you both a personal and professional advantage. In other words, what is the value of supporting your work with evidence?

8.) Now think about your own presentation. Of course, you are not finished constructing the presentation; however, consider what you have done so far. Provide yourself some honest feedback. What areas of your presentation need the most work? How do you plan to adjust your presentation so that you communicate your research effectively?

Now you are prompted to create 5 visual slides using a presentation software of PowerPoint and accompanying speaker notes so that your instructor knows what you would say if you were to actually give the presentation. These slides can be used to address any of the sections detailed above between (1-7) and should include visuals with proper citations, where necessary.

Here is some background information about, “Why do more men commit crimes than women?”

As of May 2018, 93.1 percent of federal inmates are men, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. A report from the U.S. Department of Justice indicates a vast majority of state prisoners are also men. This must mean many men are mostly involved in the violation of rules and laws governing society, right? Millions of jails and prisons imply that many families and communities are deprived of their male figures who are fathers, brothers, uncles, and sons (Hillin, 2016). Imperatively, men are more likely to commit crime than women because of their social roles, norms, and beliefs (Kaatz, Vogelman & Carnes, 2013). The social norms principle asserts that there is a gender-stereotype of men being associated with violence and crime. As such, young men commit a crime to show their dominance and to fit into society, especially when confronted with difficult situations. Further, a societal belief exists that some men will always be violent and crimes committed by men are more socially accepted than those executed by female perpetrators (Kaatz, Vogelman & Carnes, 2013). Again, male roles like being providers in a family may exacerbate their commission of crimes, particularly economic crimes, to sustain their families and meet societal expectations. Research has consistently shown state and federal prison populations are mostly males, but in the end, the statistics tell the story that more men commit crimes than women.

I’ve chosen to tailor my message (why do more men commit crimes than women) for psychologists, sociologists, criminologists, and anthropologists.

I also have a list of references I’ve been using to investigate the issue of, “Why do more men commit crimes than women?”

Again, this assignment must be a presentation and should have approximately 5 slides using PowerPoint. The slides need to address any of the sections detailed from (1-7) and should include visuals with proper citations, where necessary. Please remember to add speaker notes so that my instructor knows what I would say if I were to actually give the presentation.
