For this assignment, you will work with your team to decide how you will work together to find a solution to the school need or issue you selected? Will your team work as a Professional Learning Community (PLC), a Community of Practice (CoP), or a Critical Friends Group (CFG)? Which of these collaborative frameworks is the most appropriate for the work of your team?
In this assignment, you will research and create a PowerPoint (PPT) presentation that introduces your team to the three collaborative frameworks: PLCs, CoPs, and CFGs. You will present the PPT to your team, discuss the framework most appropriate for the leadership initiative your team has chosen, and provide a rationale for the framework you choose.
In your PPT, you should include information from scholarly sources, cite the sources in APA format on the slides, and reference them on your final slide. Get help with APA format from the APA Style website (Links to an external site.).

- Follow the steps to complete and submit the assignment.
Step 1. Using the articles referenced in the Assignment Resources PDF (linked above) and other useful resources you may locate, evaluate the shared collaborative frameworks presented in Module 3.
Step 2. Create a PowerPoint presentation that describes and evaluates the three collaborative frameworks and share this with your teammates.
Step 3. Include at least 7 slides in your presentation:
- Title slide – title of presentation, your name and course number and title
- At least one slide per collaborative framework – description of how the framework works (a few slides per framework is acceptable)
- Include either slide notes or an audio-recorded narrative that conveys what you said to your team members, or will say. This will allow you to limit what you put on each slide and give your professor enough information to assess your understanding.
- One slide that aligns and evaluates each framework to the leadership initiative – how could using the framework facilitate the work of the team?
- One slide stating team’s framework choice with brief rationale – this slide should be added after the team meeting and discussion.
- References slide in APA format
Step 4. Present to your team using the PPT slides you created. Use the questions below to help guide your discussion about the frameworks and your team’s choice of a model.
- How do you feel the work that the group is planning aligns with the principal characteristics of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)? Communities of Practice (CoPs)? Critical Friends Group (CFGs)?
- Which of the three shared collaborative frameworks will we use to guide our team’s work? Provide specific examples of how your team feels the framework will facilitate its work
Step 5. Prior to submitting your PPT presentation in the classroom, add a slide that states the team’s framework choice and the rationale for the choice.

Design templates add appeal but often leave slides looking alike. Communication can be enhanced by using diagrams, tables, shapes for text, font variation in size, color, and style, photos, and various spatial arrangements offered as options within some design templates.
