  • Evaluate the “Sample Data Dictionary” located in the article including all of the elements and definitions for each “data element”.
  • Differentiate which data elements are “text” versus “a date”? What is the difference in the format?
  • Recommend your own “data element” to add to the Sample Data Dictionary and complete the description indicators as provided in the table (Data Element, Variables, Descriptions, Data Type, and Format).
  • Can your data element have multiple definitions or formats? Is that acceptable? Why or why not?
  • You may wish to conduct additional research on data dictionaries including reviewing the provided resources and videos in this course.
  • Attempt to limit duplication of postings by reviewing student posts already provided.

You may want to think twice before doing so! According to the Journal of American Heart Association, energy drinks may give you more than just a boost.

  • Use your textbook readings and other reliable resources to research these topics in further detail. Then, in your main post, answer the following discussion topics:
    1. Are energy drinks a safe choice? Why or why not?
    2. What are the known effects that energy drinks have on the heart? On the body?
    3. Explain how cardiac output (CO) is affected by the overconsumption of energy drinks.
    4. Have there been deaths reported due to energy drink consumption? If so, provide the information you found during your research.
    5. What information would you provide to a friend and family member to deter them from ingesting energy drinks?
