According to a website I found called International HR Issues, it stated that, ” A salient issue in international HR is understanding and maintaining cultural diversity. Working with people from different locations or from different cultural backgrounds mean adapting the business’s work style to new ideas, new ways of communicating and unfamiliar social practices. If you hire an employee from England, for example, the employee might have different ideas about how to manage employees or on how to run technology processes based on her experiences back home. Being open to new work styles and cultural differences is the hallmark of cultural diversity in HR (Chron)”. This shows that companies still continue to have some issues with other cultures and diverse others by race and gender. In our book, Human Resource Management, it stated that, companies continue to have diversity among other people and they base that off of who can work etc (Page 64). This is awful due to the fact that they should be treating everyone equally and provide each one of them with a chance to show their skills and their intentions at work. Diversity happens to everyone no matter the age and what race you are, which contributes with how the company will do trying to get everyone to work together while this still holds a constant problem with some companies (Page 64-65).

Most companies who want to have a diverse work place environment have a strong sense of self. Meaning that they are attracting the right candidates and being able to retain the ones they decide to recruit. The article I found stated that business with higher level of diversity from culture and backgrounds, perform over 35% higher than others. The entire company needs to work as a team, not only the hiring manger, but HR is able to lead. The article stresses the influence that an HR has on the entire company. Jackson states “Today’s complex problems demand a variety of viewpoints to be solved, and leaders who do not value and consider an array of perspectives lose growth opportunities and suppress innovation”. Jackson also stated that “nontraditional sources of talent—including candidates with unconventional education and work histories” is how you gain access to obtaining a diversity leanse when you are searching for employees. I agree with Jackson because everyone has a different background. We are constantly evolving which means so are the consumers. When you are open minded to other peoples non traditional ways to get an education or where they might have worked you never know what can come of it. We all know that the lack of innovation in business leads to being out of business.
