Journal entries 7-10 covering modules 8-11 are due now. Instructions for each entry are found in the course syllabus.
Module Eight/7th
Journal Entry
Select and describe a specific conflict with which you are very familiar.
Using the framework for identifying sources of conflict (Table 7.1) analyze the situation as to: what type
of conflict it is, i.e., what is the source? Why did it occur and/or is continuing?
Next use the guidelines (Table 7.4) to select an appropriate conflict resolution approach that would be
most compatible for the situation.
Is this the approach the parties to your conflict have been using? If it has been, why is it not successful?
Report on your progress from your 5th
journal entry on developing power and your four efforts to develop
power. What worked? What did not work?

What you learned about your key strengths
What was and was not surprising about the feedback
What circumstances bring out your best
How you intend to capitalize/follow-up on this feedback
Refer back to the goals you established in your first journal entry and assess your progress in meeting your
goals.
