Do a brief summary of the chapter. Highlight the
points/statistics/theories, etc. that you found the most surprising or compelling and explain why. That is,
reflect on and analyze key points from the chapter; do not simply describe or reiterate them. You need to
also make connections between statistics, trends, key arguments, etc. in the chapter and events from
your own life or the life of someone you know. You may apply core sociological concepts, theories, etc.
from the chapter to a pertinent event in your life or the life of someone close to you. Make sure this is
an application, not just a personal anecdote.
These Chapter Reflections need to be at least 2 pages (no more than 2.5). 12 pt. font, double-spaced,
1-inch margins.
