While the period of Adolescence seems somewhat well-defined by Western culture, it is relatively speaking, a fairly contemporary concept. With that in mind, how has Culture (not just Western) shaped our understanding of this period? How has it changed over the last century? Moreover, how has redefining of this period complicated matters legal in nature?
As practitioners work with today’s adolescent, how does economics influence the transition to adulthood and how do we better assist these adolescents in the transition to adulthood? More specifically, what can we do in our individual (professional) way to facilitate developmental growth to adulthood?
