The U.S. Naval Academy for the first time will be led by Brigade Commander Midshipman 1st Class Sydney Barber. She is the first Black woman selected for this position in the 44 years women have been allowed to attend the Academy. Is 44 years too long for this to happen? Do we wait another 44 years?
