The Assignment on World War II includes two short-answer question. Each answer will be worth 5 points. Base your answer on the information presented in the World War II Sway Lesson. Be sure to use specific examples included in our lesson (including the assigned readings and videos). Answer the questions in your own words.
1) What is problematic about the idea that WWII was primarily a war of the Western democracies (i.e. U.S. and Britain) against the Nazis? In other words, why is that claim too simplistic? Consider that the Treaty of Versailles forced Germany to pay back the total cost of World War I allowing Hitler to come to power in the 1930s. Discuss at least two examples to support your answer.
2) What did Executive Order 9066 do? What was life like in internment camps? What did the Supreme Court, in 1944, rule in Korematsu v. United States? What were the lessons of Japanese Interment according to the Council on Foreign Relations Jim Lindsay?
