1     In chapter 4, Diamond argues why big domestic animals mattered to the development of civilizations.   Pull out three of his supporting ideas and explain his position.
2     In chapter 5, Diamond examines the unequal distribution of plant species across the globe. Identify the differences that he examines, and the impact these differences had on which civilizations developed what agricultural crops.
3     In chapter 6, Diamond then synthesizes the points of chapter 4 and 5 to examine why concerted farming began unequally across the globe.  What reasons does he give for these differences?
