Christian Counseling

Do you think it is necessary for Christians to be counseled ONLY by other Christians? If so, why? If not, why not? To further nuance your answer, do you see scenarios where there are exceptions to your rule? If you were looking for a counselor for yourself, would you restrict your choices to other Christians? If so, what are your reasons? How would you go about determining the "christianness" of the counselor? If you wouldn’t restrict your choices to a Christian, why not?
