For this blog, you will learn about the use and impact of vocalics in interactions. You will need to interact
with someone else for this assignment (someone not in our class). You will need to use your knowledge of
nonverbal communication behaviors to alter your vocal expressions. As we discussed in class,
changes in our voice and our use of vocalics can be helpful in identifying emotional states.
Directions:
1. Say the following sentence to your partner: “I have to go now, but I’ll be back in about 15 minutes”
2. Each time you say this sentence, you will change your voice to fit the following emotions:
1. Anger
2. Sadness
3. Fatigue
4. Elation
5. Disgust
6. Uncertainty
7. Fear
3. Tell the person that you will be reading a statement using different emotions.
